How to Tell If Your Driving Instructor is a Good One

Learning how to drive can be relatively easy but finding someone to teach you is often the major obstacle.  Parents and friends are usually the ones showing new drivers the rules of the road but this can lead to short cuts and bad behavior masked by helpful tips and advice. Driving is a serious endeavor and such short cuts can lead to accidents. A far better alternative than that empty parking lot with a nervous parent or guardian in the passenger seat is a driving instructor.

Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) - Save Up To 80% On Fuel Costs

A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (also called PHEV) is a car that has batteries that can be recharged through a conventional outlet.  PHEVs have both traditional internal combustion engines and batteries that can fully power the car by themselves.  The advantage of PHEVs is that when they run on their electric charge only it is estimated  they cost about 20-30% of what they would running on gas.  Not only does this benefit the consumer, it is also great news for the environment, as these cars reduce air pollution and the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming.

Alternative Source For Automotive Emissions

Alternative fuel sources continue to be evaluated for future automotive consumption.

As far back as the late 1980’s, automobiles accounted for as much as 70% of toxic emissions in the U.S. Even though with government regulations and stricter rules about how car exhaust systems would be designed, there has been only a slight reduction in the pollutants since the Clean Air Act went into effect in 1977. Today emissions from gas driven vehicles are still a primary concern for government regulators, the automotive manufacturers and the general public.

Car Buyers Should Appreciate Depreciation

Sometimes your enemy can be your friend…

When folks heap praise upon their own brilliant choice of vehicles, sometimes they will point out that the car they drive will run for 400,000 miles. Or 500,000 miles. Or some other number only of interest to employees of the Guinness corporation. The book, not the beer.

While the potential that certain vehicles have to continue to run long after others have been mourned and forgotten is clearly indicative of a superior car, what does it really mean to you? To put it another way, do you care how many miles it runs after you have left it behind? How is that high-school girlfriend of yours doing today? Don’t know? Exactly.

Car Biz Chalk Talk

No pressure here…

Overheard on car lots every single day, all across this great land:

Sales Manager: ” Where did those people go?” Salesperson: ” Which people?” SM: ” Those people that were back there checking out the (anycar).” SP: ” Oh, they said they were just looking.” SM: “Really. Did they talk to a manager before they left?” SP: ” Well….no.” SM: “You’re fired.”
