Ford, General Motors Traveling In Different Directions

It hasn’t escaped too many ears that when the plight of the big American automobile producers was brought before Congress recently, Ford’s position was different from that of General Motors and Chrysler. Chrysler’s size is a big issue as the automaker doesn’t have the scale to compete for the long haul. General Motors, on the other hand, is the second largest car producer in the world and has been losing money at a greater rate than Ford. But, only GM and Chrysler want loan money while Ford is simply looking for a line of credit.

A Saab Buyer May Not Be As Difficult To Find As Hummer

What is to become of Saab? Hopefully, something more than what is to become of Hummer, a doomed brand that no one seems to want.

Breaking news: no one wants Hummer.

Well, it really isn’t much news in the first place. When General Motors announced earlier this year that they would actively find a buyer for Hummer, their big niche sport/utility brand, analysts wondered who would want the brand. After all, when your most “fuel efficient? vehicle gets about 19 mpg on the highway, what value does the brand have when gas prices are north of $4 a gallon? Not much.

Toyota Camry Hybrid Review - The Pros and Cons

The pros and cons of the Toyota Camry Hybrid

It is said that as a hybrid the Toyota Camry hybrid does not have the same performance capabilities as the conventional sedan, but I would venture to say that as a moderate recreational driver, this car has all the performance capabilities one would need.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is a more spacious, luxurious, comfortable version of Toyota’s popular Prius hybrid, with equally impressive fuel economy. The Camry hybrid lacks the aspects of the Prius that some buyers might find off-putting, such as the compact size. The Camry hybrid establishes a perfect balance of fuel economy, ‘green’ living, and a functional family sedan.

What is Hypermiling?

For more information you may visit Anna’s blog, http://livingclean.com/hypermiling. Anna also has a Hypermiling E-Book available on her blog at http://livingclean.com/hypermiling/hypermilingebook.html.

Though the term “hypermiling” is a new word, the concepts it is based on are not new at all. We have just never had a specific name for it until now.

However, with gas prices reaching the extortion levels, people (out of necessity) have started to pay attention to how much fuel they are consuming.

And thus the word “hypermiling” has been born. The term “hypermiling” (originally coined by Wayne Gerdes) means, in simple terms, getting the best gas mileage out of the fuel you have.
